Why are South African children struggling to read properly?
About 80% of children in South Africa can’t read properly.
Teachers do not have the time to individually attend to the reading struggles of every student.
Having reading skills is an important contributing factor to academic progress. In fact these two events go hand in hand.
At reading club we work closely with children to improve their reading skills. We focus on phonics, sight words, spelling and comprehension.
